Video about how to use eggID
We will show you how fast you can mark eggs with eggID.
With a flexible stamping plate
The eggID egg stamp has a flexible stamping plate that easily adapts to any surface, so you don’t have to take the egg in your hand or out of the packaging, which also reduces the transmission of germs and prevents damage to the eggs. A short touch of the egg with the stamp is enough – without the need for careful rolling and long positioning. Never again broken eggs during marking.
With integrated ink pad
The stamping ink is already integrated in the eggID egg stamp. This means you do not need a separate ink pad. That doesn’t only save money but also a lot of time. You can simply press the stamp on one egg after the other and easily stamp more than 7,000 eggs per hour. The first filling of the stamp is sufficient for approx. 20,000 imprints. After that you can refill the stamp very easily and quickly and make another 10,000 stamp imprints per filling.
With a perfect imprint quality
The eggID egg stamping ink is smudge-proof very quickly, food safe and boil-proof. The stamp plate has a very high resolution – therefore the imprints are razor sharp. Due to the integrated ink no separate ink pad is necessary. No more fingers full of stamping ink.
Frequently asked questions about the egg stamps
In order to ensure that all eggs can be traced back to the laying hen house, there has been a Europe-wide labelling requirement for eggs since 2004. The stamp on the egg must indicate the farming method, origin and laying house number.
The first digit with the value from 0 to 3 of the imprint stands for the farming method of the laying hens:
0 = organic production
1 = Free range production
2 = barn management
3 = cage farming
The following letters are the country code for the country of origin of the eggs,
DE = Germany
NL = Netherlands
FR = France
PL = Poland
AT = Austria
The following 2 digits give information about the respective federal state in which the laying farm is located,
07 = Rhineland Palatinate
08 = Baden-Würtemberg
09 = Bavaria
10 = Saarland
The next 4 digits stand for the farm number and the last digit is the barn number of the laying farm.
From time to time, dirt and dust collect on the stamp surface. The stamp will then no longer make a clean impression. To ensure that the stamp works properly again, take a soft damp cloth (kitchen roll) and dab the stamp plate with it until it is clean again. For stubborn dirt, you can also use window cleaners.
You should avoid wiping or rubbing. If the ink is encrusted with dust, the resulting grains can damage the text plate.
Stamp dry afterwards.
If the text plate is still dirty, you can also try using alcohol. However, this is not a measure for regular cleaning because it can damage the text plate in the medium term.
If the eggs are very dusty, we recommend cleaning the stamp daily or every two days after use with a damp paper towel.
Yes, the egg stamp is easily refillable. Simply pull the handle vertically upwards from the lower part of the stamp. Then take an ink bottle (1.5 ml), carefully cut off the tip at the outer edge, pierce the open side into the hole of the stamp and then unscrew the white cap of the ink bottle. This causes the ink to run slowly into the stamp.
One bottle is sufficient for about 15,000 prints. Please note that you only use certified and food-safe ink from modico.

"Every day I am marking about 1,000 eggs. Your stamp reduced my work to half an hour."(Germany)
"I am a 1 person operation producing around 80 dozen eggs a week. New regulations have come in and now I have to stamp individual eggs. Since receiving the egg stamp I have made a game of seeing how fast I can stamp a dozen eggs. So far my record is 4 seconds. The extra time it takes to stamp eggs and the cost of the stamp is so small that my costs have not gone up really at all. I would recommend the modico egg stamp to any producer who needs a quick and easy method to manually stamp eggs."Batti Farm (Australia | New South Wales)
"I want to thank you for the ingenious eggstamp! It is lightweight, very easy to use and better than all eggstamps we bought in the past. We will recommend your eggstamp to all our egg producers. We wish you great success in your business!"(Germany)
"Just to let you know the stamp we purchased is excellent. The soft sponge molds perfectly to the egg leaving a clear image, and is amazingly quick and easy to use. No mechanics to worry about and not much storage space required either. For such a small investment we have our eggs personalised which our customers enjoy and it gives us excellent traceability. I have attached a photo of the eggs for you to see."(Australia | Tasmania)
"It's a cracker! I'm very pleased with it. The imprint is excellent and far better than I have seen on some commercial eggs which are impossible to interpret (even with a magnifying glass). Thanks again. I will be sure to recommend you."(Australia | Queensland)
When my husband told me he wants to buy the egg stamp by modico and stamp the eggs in future, I was more than sceptical. "How can this work with an oval egg at all?" But the stamp has absolutely convinced me! The number is clearly readable, and the required time is not worth talking about! I can recommend the egg stamp to everyone with a clear conscience!(Germany)
"I have an organic poultry farm, where I produce 650 eggs a day. So I was looking for a fast and effective stamp at a reasonable price. After some tests with other stamps, I discovered that your eggstamp is just perfect. It takes me about 8 to 10 seconds to stamp one pallet of eggs. In addition, the imprint quality is great, numbers and letters are sharp and clear, which gives a very good readability on the eggs." Read the complete testimonial_perrin_en.(France)
